Andre Lyra
Dr. Andre C Lyra, MD, completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. From 2000 to 2002, he served as an associate researcher at Saint Louis University Hospital, participating in research on the association between hepatitis C biology and its clinical implications. He also studied virological and clinical aspects of HBV in Brazil. Currently, he is a Professor of Medicine at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA – Brazil) and serves as Chief of the Gastro-Hepatology Service at Hospital Universitario Professor Edgard Santos – UFBA. In this role, he also provides care to numerous patients with hepatitis B infection in the Hepatology clinic and continues performing clinical research in the liver disease field.
